PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SUN CATCHERS AND PLANT STAKES CONTAIN LEAD FROM SOLDER AND CAME!
Wash hands after handling, and do not put around food or children!
Not all glass art is equal; please read care instructions based on what type of piece you are getting before purchasing so you know what to expect.
All pieces are made for indoor use only!
Sun Catchers (CONTAINS LEAD):
You probably already know this, but just in case you haven’t been told- Always wash your hands after touching lead and please keep out of reach from children and pets!
Although I clean and wax all pieces and double-inspect items before I pack them, I may miss a spot! If this happens, I apologize. If you notice any residual wax, you can buffer it out by wiping it off with a microfiber cloth or cotton rag. If there is flux, patina, or wax residue in a hard-to-reach place, you may gently scrape it off with an X-Acto knife if it is inaccessible with a microfiber cloth/ cotton rag. I thoroughly clean and wax all pieces to help slow down the naturally-occurring oxidation process that happens to all soldered stained glass along the soldering lines. Oxidation is the visible white build-up that happens on solder. This oxidation is unfortunately unavoidable, but there are things you can do to help preserve the life of the piece.
For general upkeep, you can carefully dust your piece with a microfiber cloth, duster, dry cotton cloth, or non-flakey paper towel.
Once the shine has left the piece, you can try to buffer out the piece by gently using a microfiber cloth on the soldering lines and glass. Please be very careful about the amount of pressure applied, this is glass and it is fragile. If the shine is completely gone, you may use car wax (I recommend “Turtle Wax, Super Hard Shell Liquid Wax”) to re-shine the piece and add a layer of protection to the glass.
How to apply wax: Starting, apply a penny-sized amount of wax to a clean microfiber cloth and gently rub it onto glass and solder lines. Rub around until the wax is no longer visible. Repeat until all the whole piece has been waxed. After, take a clean section of the microfiber cloth and gently buffer out until there is a visible shine.
Please note that the wax and patina may stain your cloth.
DO NOT USE WATER OR ANY CLEANING CHEMICALS (INCLUDING GLASS CLEANERS SUCH AS WINDEX) AS THEY CAN DAMAGE THE PATINA.
Plant Stakes (CONTAINS LEAD):
You probably already know this, but just in case you haven’t been told- Always wash your hands after touching lead and please keep out of reach from children and pets!
For indoor use only, do not put in outside gardens or planters!
Same general care as Sun Catchers (directly above). Make sure that the stake is secure and stable in the pot. You may want to remove it when watering to prevent the stake from moving. If you mist your plants, remove the stake during this process and place it back when you are done with routine plant maintenance.
For the best viewing experience: if you have a plant in a window, put the stake in this planter or in an area where it can receive light so you can see the beautiful colors emerge in the sunlight!
Mirrors:
You may clean the mirror in whatever manner you see fit (glass/window cleaner: Windex, water and vinegar solution, etc.) The acid-etched design will not come off and is permanent.
(Framed) Mosaics:
Mosaics can be simply dusted in whatever manner you see fit, either with a duster, a cotton/microfiber rag, a non-flaky paper towel, etc. Do not use water or cleaning chemicals on mosaics. If necessary, you can use a damp rag to gently clean the stained glass only (avoid wetting the grout).
